 The Boston Debate League seeks a dynamic and passionate full-time
Volunteer Coordinator to help develop and grow the After-School Debate
League (ASDL) volunteer program. This position is ideal for a hard-working
candidate interested in gaining on-the-ground experience in a variety of
development aspects of a thriving non-profit organization by supporting one
of the largest after-school programs in Boston. Reporting to the Director
of Development, the Volunteer Coordinator would be responsible for:

? Recruiting and training professionals, community members, and students to
volunteer with the BDL

? Managing key relationships and partnerships from varying institutions
that are interested in volunteering

? Identifying staffing needs for debate tournaments and special events and
matching volunteers to fit those needs

? Working closely with the ASDL Manager to ensure effective training

? Supporting and stewarding volunteers as they become more engaged with the

? Developing and maintaining volunteer database

? Identifying and organizing volunteer appreciation events

? Creating programs to develop and maintain long-lasting relationships with
all volunteers

? Performing other duties supporting the organization as assigned

*Job Qualifications: *

? Superior written and oral skills; the ability to understand and convey
with clarity, crispness, and elegance the mission of the BDL to a wide
variety of audiences within urban education; the ability to quickly compose
clear and concise messages for public relations and community outreach

? Bachelor?s Degree and 2 years related work experience

? Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel. Basic knowledge of MS Access and MS
Publisher desirable

? Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

? Experience managing and prioritizing multiple tasks

? Ability to work both independently and within a team

? Experience working in a high-pressure environment and meeting
unpredictable deadlines

? Positive attitude and motivation

Compensation will be commensurate with experience. Candidates must
currently live in, or be willing to relocate to, the Boston area.
